We are offering a Research Technician Position to join its Light Microscopy Facility (LMF).

Job Description We are now seeking a highly motivated, and service-oriented research technician, who will become part of the LMF team supporting both the core team as well as the users of the facility. Main duties and responsibilities will be:

  • Perform regular maintenance and quality control tasks on microscope systems including cleaning of objectives, exchanging light sources, and laser power measurements
  • Support the LMF operations with house-keeping tasks (scheduling, ordering of consumables, documentation)
  • Support of teaching and educational events such as the annual light microscopy course
  • Provide user support on selected light microscopes
  • Your qualifications Candidates should hold a research technician degree (BTA, MTA), or comparable qualification and be experienced in working in an international laboratory environment. Experience in at least one basic wide-field light microscopy technique such as transmitted light or fluorescence imaging is a must. Knowledge in advanced microscopy techniques and image analysis tools is a benefit but is not mandatory. Excellent command of English together with good communication and computer skills (office applications) is essential. The candidate should be a proactive, flexible, well-organized, service-oriented, and reliable team player willing to support both the LMF team as well as scientists with basic and advanced aspects of light microscopy and continuously expand his/her knowledge in the field of light microscopy. The successful candidate will become part of a very vivid international research environment. Working language of our community is English.

    Our offer The position is available immediately and the initial contract is for 2 years with the possibility to extend the contract for 3-4 more years.
