Occupational Summary

We are seeking a Technician to support an exciting multidisciplinary project exploring the circuit basis of Parkinson's disease in a preclinical mouse model. Our work spans neuroscience and engineering, and builds upon our recent invention, named DART (drugs acutely restricted by tethering) Shields et. al., 2017 Science . DART is the first technology capable of delivering a clinical drug exclusively to a single cell type in the brain. In addition, we leverage a cutting-edge 3D deep learning kinematic analysis platform, called DANNCE Dunn et. al., 2021 Nature Methods , to characterize motor kinematics with unprecedented detail. The research technician will work closely with the PI and current lab members to assist in an ongoing study to explore targeted synaptic perturbations mediated by clinical drugs, and to examine movement disorders in terms of the connectome.
