Position Summary

This position is now responsible for isolating and characterizing B cells and other immune cells in the tumor microenvironment in mice and patients, cloning antibodies from patients and mice and characterizing the specificity of those antibodies, isolating bone marrow for our bone marrow transplants, ordering all supplies and maintaining an inventory of all reagents and mice, supervising junior technicians and undergraduate students working in the laboratory, maintaining a budget for each student and postdoctoral fellow in the laboratory.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience

This individual must be highly proficient in eukaryotic cloning, and the use of viral vectors for cellular transduction. They must be proficient in tissue culture, able to organize a large laboratory and work well in a team environment and in the supervision of undergraduate, graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. They must be able to use either an Apple or PC computer. They must be able to perform relevant experiments using laboratory animals, and present/write data, protocols, and conclusions in a clear and concise manner.

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience

The ability to perform tissue culture, clone eukaryotic genes, use viral vectors for transduction in a BSL2 and BSL3 environment, perform genomic assessments of the tumor microenvironement, and evaluate cellular phenotype using flow cytometry.
