We are recruiting a research specialist to join our international research group conducting translational immunological studies to lung disease pathogenesis. This position is focused on sarcoidosis research to decipher the immunopathology of the disease.
Your missionAs a research specialist you will develop and work on new and ongoing projects and experimental and analytical methods in the research group. In addition to generation of experimental data, the work also includes literature review, statistical analysis, data analysis and scientific writing.
The studies primarily use patient samples from blood and tissue, in particular samples from the airways. Handling and processing of patient samples in biosafety level 2 are central in this position, as well as coordination between the clinic and the research laboratory. Patient samples are analysed using flow cytometry, RNA sequencing and an array of immunological and molecular methods. In addition, cells from patient samples are FACS sorted and used for functional in vitro assays including T cell proliferation, intracellular cytokine assays and flurospot.
Eligibility requirementsThe successful candidate should have documented experience and skills in experimental immunological work with patient blood and tissue samples, preferentially respiratory samples. The candidate should have well established knowledge in immunology and experimental methods related to these fields. Documented skills and experience in cell culture in biosafety level 2, advanced flow cytometry and cell sorting are required. The candidate should be able to communicate with others in English and be suitable for teamwork.
To be eligible for employment as a Research Specialist, in addition to holding a Degree of Doctor, PhD, or having equivalent scientific expertise, the applicant must have demonstrated research expertise as well as have documented research experience after defending their doctoral dissertation.
