The successful candidate will assist the principal investigator in an ongoing
project on Management of Agriculture, Natural Resources, and Environment using
Innovative Approaches and other projects related to watershed hydrology;
extreme hydrological events (flood and drought) prediction and evaluation;
soil health management; impacts of land use/cover changes on hydrologic
processes; agricultural water management and evaluation of decision support
systems for agricultural and landscape settings; irrigation and nutrient best
management practices for sustainable use of natural resources and
environmental protection in a changing climate; and numerical modeling using
spatial and temporal data analyses.
This position is funded by a grant or restricted funds. Continued
employment is contingent on the renewal or grant or restricted funding.
Assist with laboratory and field data collection; sample preparation,
monitoring, storage, and analysis; and data entry and review of
statistical analysis results. Assists the principal investigator in an
ongoing project on Management of Agriculture, Natural Resources and

Uses the scientific method as applied to field and lab projects and
development of research methods and protocols; assists in achieving the

Required Education & Experience:
Four years of related experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Ability to lift moderately heavy objects. Ability to exert heavy force.

Master's degree or Doctorate degree in natural resources, hydrology, civil
engineering, agricultural engineering, computer engineering, or related
academic fields emphasizing water resources, soil sciences, and
environmental science, especially water management, soil health, surface
and subsurface hydrology, and natural resource management.
Academic preparation through formal course work and earned credits, and/or
professional experience consistent with the subject areas of academic or
research stated above.
Experience in the use of laboratory analytical techniques, field research
design and implementations at different scales, spatial and temporal data
analyses, and computer programing (e.g., high-level computer program
languages including Java, C++,Python, PHP or related languages, SAS
statistical software, MS-Access
capacity and desire to work cooperatively in multidisciplinary teams, and
capability to contribute to publishing research findings in peer-reviewed
Strong numerical hydrologic modeling experience, including the use of
different models and developing various water management tools.
Excellent scientific writing and communication skills.
Skills and familiarity in deploying and managing field instrumentation
,e.g., soil moisture sensors, groundwater monitoring wells, data-loggers,
and sensor networks.
Ability to work with and train undergraduate and graduate students using
different laboratory and field equipment and software.
