  • The Veneto Eye Bank Foundation (FBOV, www. fbov.org and https:// research.fbov.org/) is one of the leading eye banks in Europe. The Research Centre of FBOV employees scientists involved in pre-clinical and clinical research focused on eye disorders and cell/tissue transplantation.

    FBOV is seeking a highly motivated Research Scientist who will contribute to the development of a project aimed at targeting the genetic defect of EEC syndrome (a rare disorder due to mutations in the p63 gene and affecting the stem cells of the cornea) through cell therapy and gene therapy/gene editing approaches.

    The project is a collaborative effort between FBOV and the University of Padova (Padova, Italy).

    The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications:

  • a Master's Degree in Biology/Biotechnology/Medical Sciences;
  • be fluent in English;
  • technical proficiency in one or more of the following areas: cell cultures (both of primary cells and cell lines), viral and non-viral vector-based transductions, molecular biology, biochemistry and microscopy;
  • a previous experience with gene editing protocols would be an advantage;
  • The position is available immediately for 2 years. Salary will be commensurate with skills and experience.
