The Institute for Astrophysics Göttingen (IAG) at the Georg-August- Universität Göttingen invites applications for the position of

Research Scientist (f/m/d)

in the fields of solar and stellar physics, within the group of Stefan Dreizler. The position is for a nominal duration of three years, including a six-month probation period. Regular working hours will be 19.9 hours per week (salary level TV-L 13). The start date is expected to be 1 May 2022.

Your duties - Perform research. The main task will be to study spectroscopic properties of multiple stellar populations in globular clusters. - Contribute to teaching activities as defined in Section 31 of the Higher Education Act of Lower Saxony (NHG) and to the organization of examinations.

Your profile - MSc/Diploma degree in physics - A doctoral degree in physics or astrophysics. - A proven track record of scientific achievements. - The ability to work in a team. - An excellent command of the English language. - The ideal candidate will have experience in the analysis of stellar spectra, globular clusters and/or integral field spectroscopy.
