Position Information

Essential Job Duties

The successful candidate is expected to lead laboratory UPLC-Mass Spectroscopy (MS) analysis of animal and human biospecimens. Responsibility for running instrumentation generating MS/MS data, ensuring data quality, statistical analysis, generating tables and figures for presentation and publications as it relates to broad-spectrum quantitative metabolomics and precision nutrition.

This position will be located in Kannapolis, NC.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead projects utilizing techniques for targeted and broad-spectrum quantitative metabolomic analysis, presenting and reporting.
  • Collecting, calculating appropriate concentrations of analytical samples.
  • Recording and assessing accuracy of data.
  • Co-author on publications and presentations and support grant applications.
  • Other Work/Responsibilities

    Work Schedule Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm

    Department Required Skills

  • Knowledge and track record of data safeguarding.
  • Must be familiar with the use of equipment in support of an HPLC-MS/MS, including safe use of fume hoods, storage and disposal of chemical and biological waste.
  • Basic statistical analysis and graphical reporting, track record of good laboratory practice.
  • Knowledge and skills in UPLC-MS/MS and HRMS workflows, use of software for operation, and data acquisition.
  • Experience in basic maintenance of analytical equipment, quantitative analysis, metabolomic and statistical analysis, working with databases.
  • Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education

  • Experience with SCIEX MS platforms, use of SCIEX Analyst®, MultiQuant® and OS® software packages, method development, use of extraction methodology such as solid-phase extraction.
