We are seeking an experienced Research Quality Assurance Manager to provide specialised project management and research quality oversight to support the vaccine development.
The successful applicant will be responsible for research quality assurance within a team conducting pre-clinical vaccine development with UQ's molecular clamp platform for viruses of medical importance. The Research Quality Assurance Manager will provide technical inputs to the design, implementation, analysis, and reporting of research studies. He or she will ensure that the rigorous standards of all research studies are upheld and of consistent quality, helping to guarantee that the final research reports are thorough and complete.
Key responsibilities will include:
Research Quality Management
Monitoring of progress by a team of seven researchers across a portfolio of objectives.
Technical inputs to the design, implementation, and analysis of research studies.
Manage research quality and data traceability. This includes ensuring research is correctly documented and recorded.
Assist with the compilation, checking and presentation of data for reports, presentations, patents and publications.
Provide advice to the project leaders and facilitate implementation of the project team's strategic objectives.
Provide high level administrative and financial support for all aspects of a large research project, including monitoring of budgets and timelines and reporting. Exercise financial delegation.
Develop and maintain good working relationships with relevant internal units and external agencies.
Provide secretariat support for project leadership team, including preparation of agendas and minutes during meetings.
Perform other administrative duties as required by the Project leadership team.

Our ideal candidate will have:
Postgraduate Tertiary qualifications, preferably in the area of microbiology, immunology, molecular biology or related field
Familiarity and prior experience with concepts of research quality, data traceability and reporting. Experience in a commercial or commercially focused research environment would be advantageous.
Relevant experience in project management including evidence of management of project budget/s >$1m
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well and flexibly i.e. autonomously, in small teams and with a wide range of varying stakeholders
Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
Ability to see the big picture, yet still focus on detail
Ability to be flexible and adaptable in the face of ambiguity and competing stakeholder needs
Proficient in use of the Microsoft office suite of products including word, excel, PowerPoint and outlook

This is a Full time, 100% FTE Fixed-term position through to February 2025 at HEW 8, with potential for extension.
The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $105,338.31 - $118,280.70 plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $123,245.82 - $138,388.42 per annum.
