  • Université de technologie de Compiègne is seeking to fill a research position for the PV2E Mobility project at its Urban Engineering Department - Avenues laboratory.

    This position would represent an initial professional experience for someone who has recently obtained his or her PhD in Electrical Engineer

    Experience in an experimental project (e.g. living lab, pilot site, etc.) related to energy management in a microgrid or related to electromobility would be a plus.

    The person recruited will work on the project “On-board and stationary photovoltaic energy and power for and in transport. Intelligent charging of electric vehicles with photovoltaic energy "(PV2EMobility). The PV2E Mobility project is the French proposal as a contribution to Task 17 - PV and Transport of the AIE technological collaboration program PVPS (International Energy Agency AIE, or IEA International Energy Agency in English). This project aims to study on-board and stationary photovoltaic (PV) energy and power for and in transport.

    Principal activities

    The recruited person will share the activities as follows:

    1. Project management (around 30%)

    For this, the person will have to:

    - Assist the project coordinator in

    o supervision of the technical progress of the project (milestones and deliverables);

    o communication and interaction with foreign partners;

    - Ensure an effective flow of communication between the project partners;

    - Organize the project meetings (logistics, agenda, registration, gathering of preparatory documents and material, minutes)

    - Supervise the technical and financial reporting of the project every 6 or 12 months (compiling the activity reports by each partner, supervising the partners' financial reporting)

    - Create and maintain a website dedicated to the project and manage a shared Cloud dedicated to the consortium (with deliverables, state of the art, meeting presentations, etc.);

    - Participate in communication and dissemination activities of the project (presentation of the project during workshops, representation in conferences, publications on social networks).

    2. Research (around 70%)

    For this, the person will join the research team for activities in accordance with the PV2E Mobility project and microgrids1. The person will work mainly on the STELLA experimental platform dedicated to the study of an intelligent electrical micro-grid dedicated to charging stations for electric vehicles (EVs) and supplying a building. This platform, located in the parking lot of the Innovation Center (IC) of UTC, is technically made up of photovoltaic shades, an auxiliary storage system, a connection to the public grid, a connection to the IC building, and the necessary power electronics components (https: // technologiques/plateforme-stella.html).

    The main components of the STELLA experimental platform are:

    · Car park shade made up of 84 Sunpower SPR X21-345 photovoltaic panels;

    · 4 connections for AC and / or DC charging stations;

    6 inverters (FRONIUS) SYMO 3,7-3-M;

    · 1 digital weather station (FRONIUS) for measuring: solar irradiation, air temperature, cell temperature and wind speed (anemometer);

    · 1 power system with integrated real time (THREE-PHASE) 60kW (1 DC / DC converter 15kW, 3 DC / DC converters 5kW, 1 three-phase grid inverter 15kW and 1 stand-alone three-phase inverter 15kW);

    · 1 li-ion storage (E4V) 7.2kWh 48V / 150Ah;

    · 1 lead-acid storage (Sonnenschein Solar) 37.4kWh 288V / 130Ah;

    · 1 supercapacitor storage (Maxwell Technologies) 0.294kWh 300V / 23.5F;

    · 2 programmable electronic loads 1 dial (POWER +) 6kW 500V-50A;

    The recruited person, under the supervision of researchers, will have the following tasks as main activities:

    - Supervise / manage the devices and devices of the STELLA platform;

    - Set up experimental testing procedures, perform interface tests and controls and format the results recorded during experimental tests;

    - Carry out the integration of electronic sub-assemblies in a complex system;

    - Write technical documents (test and integration reports, technical and usage notes, cost and time studies, etc.);

    - Maintain electronic and IT design and development tools;

    - Create a library of programs, design tools and electronic and IT development;

    - Take stock of the technical and functional specifications of the STELLA platform;

    - Participation in the dissemination and dissemination through publications, symposia, scientific conferences, and webinar, website, etc.

    1 Microgrids: set of heterogeneous electrical energy production sources (renewable, traditional, including storage) and controllable loads, each with its own individual constraints (variable or dispatchable, limited in energy and / or power)

    Offer Requirements
  • Engineering: PhD or equivalent

  • FRENCH: Good


    PhD in electrical engineering required with skills in numerical modeling under MATLAB Simulink, in control-command of electrical systems, real-time control dSPACE or equivalent, real-time simulation (Hardware-in-the-Loop), and in experimental validation

    System optimization skills will be highly appreciated.

    For the technical / scientific part, very good knowledge and experience in decentralized electrical energy production systems and / or in the control of photovoltaic energy sources are required at the engineering and research level.

    Skills in instrumentation and real-time control of systems will be highly appreciated.

    English and/or French language: B2 (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).
