Research Officer in the Department of Medicine, School of Clinical Medicine and the State Key Laboratory of Pharmaceutical Biotechnology (Ref.: 523650)

Duties and Responsibilities

  • work on research projects in one or both of the following areas: (i)overexpression and knockdown of genes mediated by recombinant adeno associated virus (rAAV) in vivo; (ii)exploration of metabolic phenotypes and underlying mechanisms for new hormones in mice model
  • coordinate and communicate research with collaborators
  • write reports and scientific publications
  • supervise postgraduate students
  • perform other duties as assigned
  • Requirements

  • a Ph.D. degree with a strong track record of high-quality research
  • an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese
  • excellent project management skills and ability to work independently and efficiently
  • able to keep abreast of new scientific and technological developments and exploit them to continuously improve functional area capabilities
  • expertise in cellular and animal studies is preferred

    What We Offer

    The appointment will commence as soon as possible on 1-year temporary basis or 2 to 3-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.

    A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered. The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable. Other benefits include annual leave, medical benefits and free access to on-campus gyms and libraries.
