Applications are invited for appointment as Research Officer in the Department of Medicine, School of Clinical Medicine and the State Key Laboratory of Pharmaceutical Biotechnology (Ref.: 520377), to commence as soon as possible, on a two- to three-year fixed-term basis or one-year temporary basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.
Applicant should possess a Ph.D. degree with a strong track record of high- quality research. They should have an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese, project management skills, the ability to work independently and efficiently; and be able to keep abreast of new scientific and technological developments, and exploit them to continuously improve functional area capabilities.
The appointee will work on research projects in the following areas: adipose biology, immunology, multi-omics, manipulation of genetically-modified mice, characterize heterogeneity of adipose tissues and/or cross-talk between adipose tissues and other metabolic organs related to the regulation of whole- body energy homeostasis. He/She will co-ordinate research and communicate with collaborators, prepare reports and scientific publications, and supervise postgraduate students. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment on fixed-term basis will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of the basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
