Applications are invited for appointment as Research Officer/Assistant Research Officer (holding the title of Project Manager/Assistant Project Manager) in the Centre for Civil Society and Governance (Ref.: 517326), to commence as soon as possible on one-year temporary basis, or on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.
Applicants should possess a Master's degree preferably in social sciences, social work, or a related discipline with at least 8 years of experience in community development, social entrepreneurship or nonprofit management. They should have an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese; the ability to work independently and as a team; and strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Those with project management experience in community design, stakeholder engagement and empowerment, and service innovation are preferred. The appointee will assist in project development, oversee and lead social sustainability (e.g. social inclusion and social innovation) projects in collaboration with community partners, and perform other duties as assigned by the Director of the Centre. Those with 10 years of relevant managerial and supervisory experience may be considered for the appointment as Research Officer.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment on fixed term will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary for Research Officer and 10% of basic salary for Assistant Research Officer. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable for Research Officer.
