Research & Knowledge Exchange Administrator (The Bridge)

Description

The Bridge within the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Business are looking to appoint an experienced, highly skilled Administrator. The Bridge integrates the Faculty's professional services support for Research, Experiential Education, KE and Civic and Cultural engagement. This powerful combination of expertise supports staff, students, businesses and communities to build projects and partnerships that embed and embody placemaking - using creative, strategic, and tactical collaboration to enable positive socio-economic and environmental change.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment and demonstrate the flexibility to adapt to evolving priorities. This is a busy and crucial role where you will work with a broad range of stakeholders across the Faculty organising events, visits and meetings (including supporting the Chairs / meeting organisers both prior-to and following meetings), providing data to inform decision making, co-ordinating calendars, minute taking, processing finances and contributing to financial planning, supporting the smooth running of the wider team.

You will be a self-starter who can anticipate needs, take initiative, and confidently drive projects forward. We are seeking an assertive individual who can confidently navigate complex situations, liaise with stakeholders, and ensure the smooth running of operations.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious candidate who is keen to develop their career, and to support this we offer the opportunity for personal development and access to a mentoring scheme as part of the role.

As a key member of our team we are looking for a candidate who is:

  • A highly skilled and experienced administrator who can evidence working in a proactive capacity and demonstrate strong self-leadership skills, taking ownership of their work and driving continuous improvement.
  • An excellent planner and organiser who can confidently liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Skilled in understanding context, recognising the impact and interdependencies of projects, and adept at spotting and nurturing connections between them to drive positive outcomes.
  • A skilful and confident communicator with excellent IT skills.
  • Able to demonstrate a professional approach and be able work both as part of a team and use their own initiative.
  • Whilst we anticipate the role to be predominantly based in the team office, we will consider some hybrid working (up to 1 day a week), subject to business needs.

Please demonstrate and evidence with examples how you meet the essential criteria outlined in the knowledge, education, training and experience sections of the job description in your supporting statement.

For an informal discussion to find out more about the role then please contact Bryony Harvey by email [email protected].

Interviews will take place on Friday 2nd August 2024 and you will be notified if you have been shortlisted or not.

This is a full-time, permanent position, working 37 hours a week.

We offer a competitive salary package and a generous pension and holiday scheme. We also offer a range of other benefits/support mechanisms, including ongoing development opportunities, flexible working, staff networks and enhanced maternity, paternity and adoption leave.

A summary of our comprehensive benefits can be viewed here.

A successful external candidate for this position would be employed by the University of Plymouth Services Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of the University of Plymouth. Employees of the University of Plymouth Services Limited work alongside the University of Plymouth colleagues in delivery of Plymouth's strategic vision, and will adopt the University of Plymouth's HR policies and procedures in full unless otherwise stated.
