Summary
The Research & Instruction Librarian (evening) provides instruction, research support, and reference services for Midwestern University students, faculty, and staff, and pursues opportunities to expand library participation across the Glendale, Arizona campus. The position reports to the Academic Services Manager. Full-time hours are Monday-Friday from 9 am- 5:30 pm, with the flexibility to shift schedule to meet teaching, committee, and other user needs. This position may also occasionally be required to open the library and staff the library service desk on weekdays.

Education and/or Experience
Master's degree in Library/Information Sciences from an ALA-accredited institution. A minimum of 1 year experience providing reference in the health sciences. Experience providing library instruction in both formal and informal settings. Experience working in a team and customer service oriented environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Computer Skills
Computer proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), health science online resources, and experience with citation management programs.
Language Skills
High skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information to top management, and boards of directors.
Reasoning Ability
High skills: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Mathematical Ability
Basic skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to interpret bar graphs.
