  • A call is open for the allocation of 1 (one) research fellowship for PhD students (BI), within the R&D Project “ADDPATH - Adaptative Designed Clinical Pathways”, co-financed by the Portugal 2020 Program (PT 2020), in the framework of the Regional Operational Program of the Center (CENTRO 2020) and the European Union through the Fundo Europeu de Desenvolvimento Regional (FEDER), taking place at the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Beira Interior https:// www. ubi.pt/Sites/FCSaude/, under the following conditions:

    Research Field: Interoperability

    Objetives:

    Development of an interface based on standards for interoperability with health information systems, capable of providing connectors for the various suppliers of electronic record systems.

    Work plan:

    1. Implementation of an interoperability middleware with support for HL7 V2.5 and FHIR, functional with HIS;

    2. Research, exploration and prototyping of asynchronous and synchronous information transformation and storage techniques;

    3. Design and development of metadata management tools;

    4. Modular prototyping and laboratory tests

    Work location:

    The work will be carried out at the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Beira Interior, in the Department of Medical Sciences, or at UBIMedical, under the scientific guidance of Doctor Henrique Martins, hmartins@fcsaude.ubi.pt.

    Fellowship duration and conditions:

    The fellowship is scheduled to start predictly in July 2022, and ends on June 30, 2023 (current project end date).

    The activity will take place on an exclusive dedication basis, as per the RBIUBI.

    The fellowship can be renewed, with a favorable opinion from the supervisor, up to a maximum total duration of 24 months if the funding entity authorizes the extension of the project's end date.

    . Declaration of honour from the candidate stating, that he/she meets the conditions for being award the scholarship BI according to Article 6 of the RBIUBI.

    Publication/notification of results:

    The final results of the evaluation process will be published in a sorted list, by the final classification obtained, and posted in a visible and public place of the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Beira Interior. The candidate(s) will be notified of the decision by e-mail.

    Benefits

    Benefits:

    A monthly maintenance allowance will be granted in accordance with the Annex I of the RBIUBI, with the amount of 1 144,64 € according to the updated values that can be consulted at https: // www. fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores.phtml.pt.

    The fellowship holder will have a personal accident insurance and can choose to be covered by the voluntary social insurance. These values will be added to the amount of monthly maintenance allowance.

    The monthly amount shall be rendered payable via bank transfer to an account held by the grantee.

    Eligibility criteria

    Requirements for admission and hiring:

    Hold a MSc degree in Informatic Engineering/Computer Science or related fields and meet the conditions to be enrolled in a cycle of studies leading to a PhD degree.

    The proof of registration in the PhD course degree is required for the fellowhip contractualization.

    Selection process

    The selection methods to be used will be composed of 2 evaluation phases, according to the following:

    1st phase - Curricular evaluation that includes:

    1- Master of science mark (30%);

    2- Previous experience in topics of knowledge related with project scope (70%);

    2nd phase – Interview:

    An interview will be done to the best ranked candidates, by video-conference.

    For the final evaluation, each of the evaluation phases have an assessment of 50%.

    Research Fellowship Holder Statute, approved by Law No. 40/2004, of 18 August, in its current wording (amended by Decree-Law No. 123/2019, of 28 August); Regulation for Research Studentships and Fellowships of the Foundation for Science and Technology (Regulation No. 950/2019) published in the Diário da República, 2nd series, No. 241, 16 December 2019; Regulation for Research Fellowships of the University of Beira Interior - RBIUBI (Regulation No. 100/2020) published in the Diário da República, 2nd series, n.º 27, February 2020.

    Complaint and Appeal Procedures:

    After communication of the provisional lists of the results in the different phases of the selection process (Admission and Exclusion, Curricular Evaluation and Interview), the candidates have 10 working days to to pronounce their disagreement, under the terms of article 121 and the Código do Procedimento Administrativo. If any allegations are presented, the final decision will be issued after the analysis of the statements presented during the prior hearing of interested parties. After the statutory deadline of 10 working days, the proposal for the final classification and ranking of the candidates becomes definitive.
