    The Opportunity

    The Centre for Health Economics is one of the largest independent groups of health economists in Australia. They are recognised as one of the leading centres in health economics research and education, both in Australia and internationally. The Centre has made, and continues to make, a significant contribution to the public debate and policy development in the Australian healthcare sector.     The Centre for Health Economics is seeking to appoint a dynamic social science researcher to join the Faculty. The research will contribute to the studies related to health economic evaluation, quality of life and health preference research.

    The Research Fellow will be responsible for:

  • Conducting research independently and as a member of the cross- disciplinary research team to produce high-quality conference, seminar and journal publications
  • Assist in the conceptual development and implementation of research
  • Involvement in professional activities including, subject to availability of funds, attendance at conferences and seminars in the field of expertise
  • Attending centre and/or faculty meetings, and contributing to the planning and/or committee work
  • The successful applicant will have a doctoral qualification in Economics, Econometrics, Statistics, Data Analytics, health services research or a closely related field. They will also have demonstrated experience in manuscript preparation skills; including evidence of an ability to produce high-quality research outputs or the potential to do so. Advanced statistical skills with the ability to use statistical software packages such as STATA or equivalent is highly desirable.

    This role is a full-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.
