    About the role

    The Research Fellow reports to Professor Ariadne Vromen, the Sir John Bunting Chair of Public Administration and ANZSOG's Deputy Dean of Research, located at the Crawford School of Public Policy. You will work closely with Crawford School of Public Policy academics, ANZSOG, federal and state government agencies, as well as University colleagues, to deliver key strategic outcomes in research.

    The Research Fellow will be expected to demonstrate excellence in published research, teaching and project management, and have the potential to attract external funding for research. Building engaged research relationships with governments and industry will also be required, as well as teaching in the Crawford School's Public Policy program.

    In this role you will undertake work in three areas of activity – research, education (teaching and learning), and service (including outreach).

    Our ideal candidate

    Our ideal candidate will have a PhD in public policy, political science, or sociology; and have existing research and publications on citizen engagement and/or policy advocacy. You will have the capacity to undertake and lead policy-relevant social science research projects that use both quantitative and qualitative methods. Demonstration of your survey data analysis skills are essential. You will have experience in teaching public policy, especially in policy analysis or research methods. To excel in this role, you will also be keen to make a difference to policy and public sector reform in Australia.
