Level B - TRP $117,562 - $138,831 pro rata per annum inclusive of 17%
In partnership with the Baker Institute, La Trobe University has established
the Baker Department of Cardiovascular Research Translation and
Implementation, led by Professor Peter Meikle. This new research fellowship
will be situated within the new Department and jointly funded from La Trobe
University and the Baker Institute
About the position
The successful applicant will be one of a team of researchers and students
working on a range of collaborative projects, including the development of
lipid modulating therapies for cardiovascular disease and other chronic
diseases. The successful applicant will be responsible for developing program
of work specifically targeted to the modulation of lipid metabolism in
cardiovascular disease using a range of preclinical models available at the
Baker Institute and La Trobe University.
Skills and Experience
To be considered for this position, you will have;
Completion of a PhD or equivalent qualifications or research experience.
A record of publications, conference papers and/or reports, or
professional or technical contributions which provide evidence of strong
Demonstrated ability to supervise, or co-supervise, Honours, Masters
and/or PhD students.
Sound analytical skills with an ability to communicate complex information
clearly both orally and in writing.
High level organisational skills: the ability to set priorities, meet
deadlines, initiate and follow-up actions, all with minimal or no
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively with staff
and students from a diverse range of backgrounds.
