    Position overview

    Two positions are available at the ANU School of Computing to join our Intelligence Cluster and conduct research in optimisation for smart energy grids. We are interested in excellent PhD graduates, with a track record in one or more of the following:

  • Mathematical optimisation
  • Optimisation for power systems and smart grids
  • Scheduling of distributed energy resources
  • Energy market design
  • Distribution network modelling

    The position is a fixed term 22 month appointment as part of an exciting new Australian Renewable Energy Agency funded project on DER optimisation and integration. The project is made up of team members from the School of Computing's Intelligence Cluster, and the School of Engineering's Battery Storage and Grid Integration Program. Although the candidate's main time contribution will be to research, they may also be expected to contribute at a reduced intensity to the teaching activities of the school, and to the supervision of students.

    Longer term and/or ongoing appointment may be offered in exceptional cases subject to performance and budget availability as well the candidate's demonstrated capability and desire to complement the School's strategic agendas in teaching, research and broader engagement within the University and community.
