  • We are looking for a full-time researcher to be employed at the Department of Particle Interactions and Detection Techniques, within the program NAWA Polish Returns 2021. The employee is expected to lead the developments of a novel experiment at the future Large Hadron electron Collider (LHeC) at CERN. That will involve intense collaborations with the research groups at CERN and elsewhere. 18-month contract starts on the 1st January 2023

    Selection process

    Candidate must provide the following documents:

    Application and CV with a personal questionnaire

    Copies of diplomas or other certificates of the degrees and other qualifications

    Description of scientific achievements ( list of publications, books, articles, conference papers, research and applied reports/studies, patents ) and organizational achievements (list of current and past positions/functions at the university and beyond)

    Two reference letters sent at confidence at

    B2 English certificate or equivalent (not required for candidates for whom English is the first language)

    Signed additional documents, which are: information clause and consent to the processing of personal data by AGH

    The candidate must fulfil the following requirements defined in the Polish Law on Higher Education:

  • possesses qualifications defined in the Law,
  • has full legal capacity,
  • has not been punished by final court judgement for intentional offence,

  • Physics: PhD or equivalent

  • ENGLISH: Excellent

  • PhD in physics or a related discipline,
  • knowledge of modern particle physics documented by active participation in the international conferences and symposia,
  • independence in research work, with particular emphasis on work with particle detectors,
  • significant scientific achievements in the field of high energy physics, in particular in the domain of experiments at colliders,
  • organizational achievements,
  • knowledge of English (B2 level at least).
