Bayesian Agent-Based Population Studies
We are pleased to offer an opportunity to join a cutting-edge project
“Bayesian Agent-based Population Studies: Transforming Simulation Models of
Human Migration”, funded by the European Research Council (www. baps-
project.eu), for a three-month piece of work related to interviewing and
carrying out a qualitative survey of asylum seekers and refugees in Europe.
The aim of our project is to develop a simulation model of international
migration, based on a population of intelligent, cognitive agents, their
social networks and institutions, all interacting with one another. In the
modelling process, we are using Bayesian statistical principles to design
innovative computer simulations, and to learn about the way the simulated
agents make decisions through cognitive experiments.
