You will join our collaborative, multi-disciplinary team working on developing new non-thermal plasma technologies for addressing infection control in future hospital environments by adapting space technologies developed crewed missions and planetary protection.

You will be working under the supervision of Dr Minkwan Kim at the University of Southampton with several PhD students and Research fellows.

  • Identify the required plasma dose and aerodynamic properties which can achieve minimum 4-log reduction
  • Address the scalability of the system and system requirement
  • Perform optical plasma diagnostics

To be successful, you will have a PhD in plasma physics or related areas such as mechanical, electrical and aerospace engineering or equivalent professional qualifications and experience. Experience with experimental work is critical and knowledge of non-thermal plasma is desirable. A candidate having electrical engineering background or circuit design experience is encouraged to apply.
