An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and passionate Implementation Science (IS) Research Fellow to join the Curtin School of Nursing.

Under the guidance of an experienced team, you will use IS methods to:

1) Embed the ESCALATION System (paediatric early warning system) in WA Country Health Service and

2) Strengthen the family involvement component of the ESCALATION System to maximise the benefits for Aboriginal children and their families.

This three year IS fellowship is one of several WA FHRIF fellowships appointed to build capacity in IS research and support IS across WA health. There will be an IS development program for the group of IS Fellows. The grant funding is a partnership with WA Country Health Service.

To be successful in this role, you will be a healthcare professional with a postgraduate qualification, experience undertaking research and/or project management and ideally working towards a higher degree (research masters or PhD).

Experience in engagement with stakeholders, health consumers and in health systems research is essential as you'll be required to meet with and work collaboratively with stakeholders and consumers in WACHS regions and collect both qualitative and quantitative data in a variety of clinical settings.

Essential:

  • Health professional.
  • A postgraduate qualification.
  • Experience undertaking research and/or project management in a health field.
  • Demonstrated high level communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to the development of a collegial and supportive working environment and the ability to interact with families and staff with cross cultural sensitivity.
  • Demonstrated commitment to applying relevant and applicable policies, procedures and legislation in the day-to-day performance of the functions of the position.
  • Preferred:

  • Registered Nurse.
  • A research degree (Honours, Masters or PhD) in a health field or working towards.
  • Paediatric clinical experience.
  • Experience working in regional or remote health environments.
