About This Opportunity

Focusing primarily on titanium additive manufacturing research activities, we are seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Research Engineer to advance the uses of existing additive manufacturing technologies and techniques, as well as explore new technology development.

This role will align with AMPAM's focus on industry capability development and technology transfer activities for Australian SMEs.

As a Research Engineer, you will deal with a variety of tasks including:

  • Collaborate and consult with research groups to lead collaborative projects in additive manufacturing.
  • Contribute to building national industrial capability and capacity in additive manufacturing for high integrity, high value and high performing components.
  • Analyse outcomes from manufacturing trials and provide feedback on effectiveness and enhancement.
  • Engage and influence stakeholders (research, industry) for supply chain improvements and setting context through global best practice benchmarks, standards and quality frameworks.
  • Contribute to the mentoring of undergraduate and postgraduate research students.

    Our Ideal Candidate

    Alongside a bachelor's degree in engineering (or equivalent) with relevant experience in Titanium Additive manufacturing; or a combination of relevant industry experience in Titanium Additive manufacturing or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training, we are seeking candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Experience in research and working collaboratively with a wide range of colleagues and diverse stakeholders.
  • High levels of drive and enthusiasm.
  • An ability to prioritise own workload, work independently and meet firm deadlines.
  • High level of interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to contribute actively toward a safe working culture and environment.

    What We Can Offer

    This is a full-time, fixed term position up to 12 months at Research HEW Level 6.

    For a HEW Level 6, The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $80,784 - $86,768 plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $94,517 - $101,519
