You will work together with researchers in chemical and medical research areas, who are looking for your help regarding mass spectrometric analyses. The work is extremely varied and includes many different research questions. You will be responsible for the maintenance and operation of the mass spectrometry infrastructure including associated chromatographic equipment at the Center for Analysis and Synthesis. This includes analyzes and method development, for both internal and external users, as well as supporting users of mass spectrometry at the unit. The tasks also include troubleshooting and maintenance of the instrumentation, e.g. oil changes in pre-vacuum pumps, calibration, cleaning of instruments and simpler interventions on the instrumentation. In the event of a major fault with the equipment, you are responsible for contacting the relevant service technician. You are responsible for booking the instruments, developing and maintaining user routines for the mass spectrometers, as well as, together with the unit's IT staff, handling and storing data generated on the instruments. You will be the supervisor of a small group of people (about two people at the moment), who maintain instruments at the unit. In this capacity, you will represent the technical staff at the Unity Council. The position may also include some teaching, as well as time for own research.Qualifications
