In order to propose new solutions for the protection against chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) risk, we propose to develop and analyze porous materials called Metal-Organic Framework (MOF), for the capture and/or the decomposition of chemical warfare agents simulants (e.g., CEPS or Parathion). The work will involve the synthesis of Metal Organic Frameworks by hydrothermal synthesis, their characterization by usual techniques (X-ray diffraction, N2 sorption) and the use of spectroscopy techniques (UV-Vis. spectroscopy and NMR in solution) to evaluate their efficiency for the capture and decomposition of the targeted species.

The work will be done within the MATHYB team, localized at Villeneuve d'Ascq (Lille suburban area, France).

    Research background:

The candidate should be an experimentalist with an experience in materials synthesis and characterization, as well as in analytical chemistry. Previous experiences in MOFs chemistry are not mandatory but are appreciated. The candidate must have a completed at least a Master's degree or an engineer's degree (or equivalent) for application.

    Funding:

The net salary will be in the range 2000-2500 €, depending on the candidate's experience. The research engineer will start as soon as possible in early 2023 (preferably in January or February) and for 24 months.
