Research Capacity Officer – Maternity Cover

Pandemic Sciences Institute, New Richards Building, Old Road Campus, Roosevelt Drive, Oxford, OX3 7LG

We are seeking a highly organised Research Capacity Officer (Maternity Cover) to join the International Severe Acute Respiratory and emerging Infection Consortium (ISARIC) at the Pandemic Sciences Institute.

This is an exciting role, which offers an opportunity for international work contributing to clinical research outbreak preparedness and response. You will be line managed by the Senior Capacity Development Manager, within an expanding capacity development team, which includes the ISARIC LMIC hubs. This will make some of the membership activities predominantly regional and country based. The ability to travel internationally (barring any travel restrictions), will therefore be expected in this role. You will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination of ISARIC Members, as guided by the ISARIC membership strategy and policy, and act as a first point-of-contact for triaging requests and inquiries across the rest of the team; understanding Members research activities – integrating these into a broader programme of work.

It is essential that you hold an undergraduate degree, in a scientific subject and you will have experience in a research-based coordination role. It is also key that you have demonstrable administrative / project management experience. You should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels and to provide accurate and coherent information when required.

Applications for this vacancy are to be made online and you will be required to upload a supporting statement and CV as part of your online application. Your supporting statement must explain how you meet each of the selection criteria for the post using examples of your skills and experience.

This position is offered full time (part time may be considered, minimum 60% FTE) on a fixed term contract for 9 months and is funded by the Wellcome.

Only applications received before 12 midday on Monday 5th December will be considered. Interviews are taking place on Wednesday 21st December 2022. Please quote 161943 on all correspondence.
