About the Organization
The High Temperature Thermal Analysis Laboratory (HTTAL) is a Materials
Engineering experimental research lab under an NSERC/Pratt and Whitney Canada
Industrial Research Chair program. The overarching goal of the program is to
develop advanced materials processing routes applied to the production of Ni-
based superalloys for applications in aerospace gas turbine engines. The work
is done in close collaboration with an industrial partner. For more

Reporting to the Principal Investigator (PI), High Temperature Thermal
Analysis Laboratory (HTTAL), the Research Associate (RA) will work
independently to perform various experiments, review data, and present on data
Complete experimental research using a variety of high temperature thermal
analysis instruments, metallographic equipment and powder metallurgy
Analyze and interpret results from data.
Report on the results using PowerPoint presentations on a regular basis.
Report outcomes of the research to an industrial partner at teleconference
meetings, as required.
Undergraduate Materials Engineering degree, with 3 years' related
experience is required. Graduate degree in Science, Materials Science or
Engineering, or additional related field with research experience in the area
of Materials are preferred. Must be able to work independently and possess
excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational
skills are required.
