Salary Information Commensurate with experience Department Summary
The Institute for Translational Research is devoted to bringing novel diagnostics and interventions to patients and families suffering from neurodegenerative diseases, fostering translational research in neurodegenerative diseases at UNTHSC, and Create solutions for a healthier community. Our team spans basic “bench-top” science, clinical research, community-based research and clinical trials. Our translational approach is intended to foster discovery and expedite those discoveries toward the benefit of those suffering from brain disease. A particular emphasis of ITR is the development of personalized (or person-focused) medicine for Alzheimer's disease.
Position Overview
The Research Associate (Wet Lab Production) position will learn all the processes in the lab to be able to fill in for positions wen needed. The candidate will conduct ELISAs on robotic equipment as well as manual techniques. They will also be responsible for reagent prep for the experiments, accessioning samples from other research projects, picking/shipping samples and collecting samples for various clinical trials.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Preferred Qualifications
B.S. in Science (required)
Experience with ELISA or clinical assays (preferred)
Previous clinical or research lab experience (preferred)
Ability to work a flexible schedule
Attention to detail
Ability to follow established protocols
Ability to multi-task
Eagerness to learn and self-motivated
Ability to work in a team and in a collaborative environment
Excellent organizational, communication and time management skills
