Job description

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Research Associate with strong interest in high-voltage, high-current pulsed power technology or in high- power electronics.

The postholder will be based at the Wolfson School of Mechanical, Electrical and Manufacturing Engineering, Loughborough University campus and will work on to create novel design pulsed power systems, perform numerical modelling and carry out voltage, current, magnetic field, electric field, pressure and various optical measurements using fast transient diagnostics.

This appointment will be for 18 months fixed term. You will have a PhD degree or equivalent in electrical engineering, plasma physics or other relevant discipline. You will have regular interaction and collaborate closely with the project Leader and with a team of researchers. Appropriate instruction and training in the pulsed power art will be provided.
