A position exists for a Research Associate in the Department of Engineering to develop homogenisation methods for composite and architected materials. The project will involve a close collaboration with in-house experimental activities as well as international groups developing new methods to assemble micro-architected materials with designed properties. The specific goals include: (a) Development of homogenisation methods for capturing the non- local behaviour of architected and composite materials. (b) Validation of the numerical schemes against experimental data.
The post holder will be located in Central Cambridge Cambridgeshire, UK.
The skills, qualifications and experience required to perform the role will include a good working knowledge of Finite Element computations with a strong continuum mechanics and homogenisation methods background. The applicant will have obtained a PhD in Engineering Science.
Research Associate: £34,308 - £42,155
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 12 months in the first instance.
