Posting Summary

The primary purpose of this Research Associate II position is to help build and implement a clinical and translational research program in Mycobacterium tuberculosis and COVID-19 under the guidance of the Principal Investigator. Our program spans across domestic and international research studies integrating clinical, epidemiologic, laboratory, imaging and machine learning sciences. Important components of this work are writing proposals to support and expand the research program, supervising trainees, and conducting biostatistics/epidemiologic analyses.

Among the key duties of this position are the following: Contributes to preparation of proposals, formal applications and justifications for grant applications. Assist with overall management of research activities/operations, supervising study teams and trainees/students, and assuring that research projects are on task. Develops and implements research protocols, including IRB protocols and SOPs. Contributes to study design and data analysis using statistical methods. Assists with data analysis and manuscript preparation for publication of data generated.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Ph.D or equivalent in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Data Science, Public Health, Clinical Sciences or related field or a Master's Degree in a relevant science plus three (3) years of related research experience.
  • Candidates should have previous experience writing biomedical research proposals/grant applications, and at least 2 years of experience in clinical/epidemiologic and/or translational research.
  • Certifications/Licenses Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Familiarity with biostatistical and/or epidemiologic methods and excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge/skills in machine learning or epidemiologic modelling is a plus.
  • Equipment Utilized Physical Demands and Work Environment Special Conditions

  • Must be available to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays when necessary to meet deadlines.

    Immunization Requirements
