A 19-month fixed-term full-time Research Associate is available at the Department of Psychology, University of Hull, starting in January 2022. The RA will work on an Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) funded project investigating future thinking in depression, working with Dr Rachel Anderson (principal investigator), Prof Stephen Dewhurst and Prof Kevin Riggs.

This is an experimental project investigating the usefulness of episodic simulation as a training tool to modify how individuals (non-depressed and depressed) think and feel about the future and involves data collection from both student and clinical populations.

The RA will have responsibility for conducting and analysing the experiments of the proposed research. It is expected that suitable candidates should have prior experience of conducting cognitive/experimental psychological research and a knowledge of cognitive theories relevant to mental health (particularly depression). Knowledge of research in human memory/future thinking, experience programming experimental studies and previous work experience with clinical/vulnerable populations would all be advantageous for prospective applicants.

The terms of the grant that fund this position require that employment commences on 1st January 2022.
