Position Summary

The Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition at Michigan State University seeks a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work in Dr. Rita Strakovsky's Perinatal Molecular Epidemiology group. The primary responsibilities for this position are to manage and perform biostatistical analyses on various epidemiological datasets, prepare abstracts and posters/presentations for scientific meetings, contribute to writing manuscripts related to perinatal epidemiology and fetal/women's health, and help graduate and undergraduate students with these tasks. Specifically, the applicant will contribute to NIH-funded research related to the impacts of endocrine disrupting chemical exposures or diet in pregnancy on fetal development and maternal long-term health.

This position is a training opportunity, more than anything else. Dr. Strakovsky's research group prioritizes trainee development and will provide opportunities to grow by attending various workshops, conferences, and networking/career development events. The postdoctoral trainee will also be encouraged to prepare and submit grants - together with Dr. Strakovsky and independently. Finally, there is potential for appointment to a NIEHS-funded T32 training grant for eligible applicants.
