Research Associate (Fixed Term)

We would like to appoint a postdoctoral researcher in seismology at the University of Cambridge for a fixed term of 24 months. The project will include the development and application of methods for broadband seismic signal processing, waveform analysis, waveform inversion and seismic tomography. The imaging targets are both at the local scale, where high- frequency ambient noise will be used, and at the global scale, where teleseismic waveform tomography will be performed.

The successful candidate must have a PhD in seismology or a related field and have relevant post-PhD research experience. We are looking for a candidate with substantial computing and programming experience, experience in the development and application of methods for signal processing, modelling and inversion of seismic data and seismic tomography. The successful applicant will have a strong publication record, good communication skills and be able to take up the appointment by August 2021.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 2 years in the first instance.
