Prevention Insights at the Indiana University School of Public Health invites
applications for a Research Associate – Data and Evaluation Specialist. This
position will begin on or about September 15, 2022.
About Us : Prevention Insights at the Indiana University School of Public
Health Bloomington is a renowned public health organization in the United
States. Headquartered in Bloomington, Indiana and operating entirely on
extramural funding (grants and contracts), Prevention Insights provides a
range of public health services that include training and technical assistance
in Screening, Brief Intervention, Referral to Treatment (SBIRT),
Motivational Interviewing (MI), Mental Health, Organizational Wellness, and
Workforce Development. We also provide services in Evaluation, Survey,
Software Engineering, Grant Writing, Communications, External Agency
Management, and Regulatory Compliance of Alcohol, Gambling, Tobacco, and Other
Drugs. As the national evaluator of SAMHSA's Technology Transfer Centers,
Prevention Insights works with single state agencies, technology transfer
centers, prevention networks, hospitals, companies, and organizations across
the country. Our SBIRT, MI, and Evaluation services have received national
recognition from state and federal agencies over the past 30 years.

Responsibilities: Develop and design survey and evaluation projects. Plan,
collect, manage, analyze, and report evaluation and survey data. Create data
visualizations and formative reports. Secure and monitor subcontractors as
assigned by project. Conduct interviews and/or focus groups for qualitative
data analysis. Design data collection instruments. Develop marketing and
communication strategies to recruit survey participants. Collaborate with
community partners in the development of logic models and evaluations plans.
Ability to research and locate county-level data sets to inform community
substance use prevention efforts. Conduct statistical analysis utilizing SPSS
or SAS software. Author reports and deliver presentations of findings.

Experience in project management, project evaluation, data management,
analysis, and reporting. Knowledge of SPSS and/or SAS coding. Understanding of
substance use prevention theory. Oral and written communication skills to
present statistical information in academic and non-academic formats. Must
possess a strong attention to details and ability to meet deliverable
deadlines. Organizational skills include the ability to plan and manage
projects of various sizes and complexities. Strong interpersonal skills and
capability to work with a team and independently.

Candidates should have a Master's degree in public health, health education,
community psychology, social work, or related fields and a minimum of 3 years
of experience in data analysis and project evaluation.
Salary and Rank $47,000-$60,000
