Within the framework of the research cluster FLOW FOR LIFE at Technische Universität Darmstadt the position for a
Research Associate as Group Leader (all genders)is available. The employment is initially limited to a period of three years with the general possibility of an extension for up to three years maximum.
The goal of the LOEWE research cluster FLOW FOR LIFE (www. tu- darmstadt.de/flowforlife) is to develop an artificial network that transports oxygen and nutrients within lab-grown human tissue of a centimeter size scale. Combining engineering with biological principles, and synthetic with biological materials, the project brings together experts and infrastructure from five engineering and natural science departments at the TU Darmstadt.
Funding for a PhD student and consumables are coupled to this position. Lab space and equipment at the Biology Department will be shared.
Your profile:
You are an excellent scientist with international experience, a PhD not longer than four years ago, and a strong motivation to perform independent research.
You are a collaborative person, enjoy working in an interdisciplinary team and your scientific interests match biological research topics pursued in FLOW FOR LIFE, such as: vascular cell biology, cellular interactions with artificial surfaces/extracellular matrix mimics, tissue engineering.
The fulfillment of the duties likewise enables the scientific qualifications of the candidate.
The Technische Universität Darmstadt intends to increase the number of female employees and encourages female candidates to apply. Wages and salaries are according to the collective agreements on salary scales, which apply to the Technische Universität Darmstadt (TV-TU Darmstadt). Part-time employment is generally possible.
