The Research Associate works with a vertical research team of graduate and undergraduate students on two projects pertaining to science and engineering learning through family storytelling. The Research Associate duties are: establishing and maintaining partnerships with local community groups and institutions, including those serving Latine families with 3- to 5-year old children; and working with museum educators and staff; participant recruitment; data collection; and data coding and analysis. The position involves off-campus data collection, and primarily in-person work (at data collection sites, in lab on Lakeshore campus). Some weekend work for data collection is required.
Minimum Education and/or Work Experience
Bachelor's degree in related field and zero-one year of related experience.
Qualifications
Minimum requirements are a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Education, Linguistics or related fields, and at least one year of research experience. Experience with language analysis and naturalistic observation methodology is a plus. Fluent/native Spanish language skills are required.
Certificates/Credentials/Licenses

Computer Skills
Experience using transcribing software (e.g., CLAN) and statistical software (e.g., SPSS) is required. Excellent typing skills, and the ability to work independently as well as in collaboration with others is a must.
