At the Department of Political Science, we are looking for a

Research Assistant (20 %)

for a SNSF-financed research project on electoral reforms and representation in the late 19th and 20th century in Western Europe, North America, and Oceania. In the project, we collect and analyze statistical data, parliamentary debates, and roll call votes to study why parties and legislators develop preferences for electoral reforms and how these reforms affect the representation of different societal groups.

Your responsibilities
  • Digitization of electoral results, roll call votes, and other data
  • Preparation of data sets
  • Your profile
  • Advanced studies (Bachelor or Master) in political science, economics, or another relevant field with good or very good grades
  • Working knowledge of Excel and a statistical software (ideally R)
  • Working language is English or German. Knowledge of an additional European language is a plus
  • Reliability and flexibility
  • An interest in comparative politics
