Position Information
Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
The Education Policy Initiative at Carolina (EPIC) is housed in the Department of Public Policy in the School of Arts and Sciences. EPIC conducts rigorous and responsive education research and evaluation that informs practice and policy for the betterment of students, educators, schools, and communities. EPIC aims to engage in this work in close partnership with practitioners and policymakers to ensure high-quality and equitable learning opportunities for our nation's youth.
Position Summary
The candidate will partner closely with the PIs and co-PI's to manage research activities in accordance with the project objectives and study timelines. They will be actively involved with preparation, management and maintenance of project related survey data. The incumbent will be expected to ensure data integrity with orderly data collection and analysis through utilization of MS Office, Dedoose, Atlas.ti, Stata, and UNC customized systems and tools. The position is also responsible for data management through active quality control, auditing and validation activities.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Required qualifications include proficient computer skills including experience with Qualtrics and Dedoose qualitative software. Experience in working as a collaborator with researchers, specifically with research design and quantitative research analysis.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
A background in the field of education research and/or experience with the NC education system. Experience with quantitative software including Stata, R, or SAS.
