The Health Science Center (HSC) is looking for a Research Assistant to serve
as a member of the Microbial Pathogenesis and Immunology team. We desire an
individual who subscribes to and supports our commitment as stated above. The
successful applicant will bring an expert level of research experience to the
position and understand the demands of supporting executives in a fast-paced
environment. This person must be professional, enjoy working in a high-volume
environment and be able to apply strong organizational skills while being

Appropriate bachelor's or equivalent combination of education and
Required Licenses and Certifications:
Texas Driver License to travel between the different TAMU campuses in
Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Bachelor's in Life Science Discipline
Experience in microbiology, host pathogen interactions, cell biology,
confocal microscopy, or flow cytometry. Experience working with diverse
individuals and communities

Superb communication and record-keeping skills.

Willingness to work in a fast-paced, highly collaborative, deadline-

Perform basic research to support overall project goals.
Selects and applies standard techniques of routine research.
Uses computers and laboratory or technical equipment to perform data
analysis, statistical analysis, and technical evaluation of research
experiments and results.
Assists other laboratory staff. Installs, operates, maintains, and/or
repairs research equipment.
Travel between different TAMU campuses in Bryan/College Station.
Keep detailed records of findings and prepare periodic reports, including
manuscripts describing research progress.
Support collaborative interactions with other research team members.
Attend meetings, journal clubs, seminars and other departmental
