Position Overview

The ANU College of Health and Medicine comprises the Research School of Psychology, the ANU Medical School, the John Curtin School of Medical Research and the Research School of Population Health. These schools work together to deliver world-class research and education across the spectrum of medicine and health-related fields, working in partnership with the health sector at local, national and international levels.

The Research Assistant position will sit within the National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health, one of the five centres within the Research School of Population Health (RSPH). The Research Officer will make an active contribution to the area by conducting cutting-edge innovative and multidisciplinary research in areas of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and wellbeing in partnership with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals, communities, and organisations. The major areas of focus for the Research Assistant will be to work on Tackling Indigenous Smoking (TIS) Evaluation Project. The TIS team will carry out a program of work aimed at quantifying the impact and outcomes of TIS Regional Tobacco Control Grants on smoking prevalence and other tobacco-related indicators among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
