The search will remain open until the position has been filled. First consideration will be given to applications received by October 15, 2021. Duties and Responsibilities:

Take an active role as a scientific collaborator with college researchers, including leadership in grant submission, data analysis, and publication. Serve as a collaborator, PI or co-PI as appropriate.

Cultivate and maintain working relationships with department chairs and faculty, and collaborators outside of the College. Integrate faculty into ongoing research initiatives and the inclusion of faculty in the development of new research programs.

Oversee the safety program for college research laboratories.

Facilitate and participate in developing research initiatives of relevance to diverse stakeholders from the University, government, and others outside of the University.

Perform and oversee the acquisition, usage, maintenance, and upgrade of a diverse collection of chemistry and molecular biology research instruments, particularly the various mass spectrometers owned by the College.

Train researchers of all education levels to collect high-quality data using these instruments in both laboratory and classroom settings.

Cultivate and maintain working relationships with department chairs, faculty, and the RI-INBRE core Iab facility staff.

Assist in managing the day-to-day activities of the College of Pharmacy research facilities, including facility repair and upgrades, new equipment installation and validation, and research onboarding and moves.

Represent the College at research meetings and conferences, as appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED

1. Ph.D. in the Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences or related science

2. Demonstrated experience coordinating multiple projects, utilizing budgets and managing resources.

3. Demonstrated experience collaborating with other researchers.

4. Demonstrated experience working with diverse groups/populations.

5. Demonstrated proficiency in written communication skills.

6. Demonstrated strong oral communication skills.

PREFERRED :

1. Demonstrated laboratory experience and publication record.

2. Experience with maintaining and using mass spectrometers.

3. Experience managing or analyzing databases.

4. Experience with university and state purchasing systems.

5. Teaching experience in the classroom and/or laboratory settings.
