Position Title: Research Assistant Professor or Research Associate
Position Ranking (Research Assistant Professor or Research Associate
Professor) will be dependent upon experience and credentials.
We are currently seeking a Research Assistant Professor/Research Associate
Professor to work in the areas of renewable and sustainable energy with
significant research experience in the area of wind power, solar energy, fuel
cells, energy storage systems, microgrid, integration of renewable energy
sources in the existing power grid, electric vehicles and related areas.
The successful candidate must have a PhD in Electrical Engineering or in a
closely related field. The candidate must have a demonstrated track record of
extramural funding and publications in peer-reviewed journals and
international conferences above-mentioned areas. The candidate must be
proficient in advanced simulation software development in the aforementioned
areas. The candidate is expected to fully utilize the resources available in
the Sustainable Energy Systems (SES) Lab and High Performance Computing
The candidate will integrate the renewable energy sources and equipment
available in the Sustainable Energy Systems Lab and ensure that the lab
remains functional for both funded research projects and for research
activities related to graduate students' thesis/dissertation. The candidate
will work independently with minimal supervision, expected to develop large-
scale, multi-disciplinary proposals for external funding, and provide monthly
progress report to the supervisor. The work will be performed in the college
of engineering at Texas A&M University-Kingsville. The research results must
be disseminated in journal papers and conference proceedings.
The initial appointment for this position is for two years with a start date
on January 1, 2021 and end date on December 31, 2022. The salary will be
commensurate with experience.
