The Department of Neurology and Rehabilitation is seeking a Research Assistant
Professor to assist a Principal Investigator with research activities. In this
role the Research Assistant Professor will collaboratively with members of
Neurology and/or other departments on Bioinformatics for genomic studies and
analysis of RNA sequencing, microarrays, genomic projects, write manuscripts;
apply for grant funding and provide statistical expertise and the use of
software for bioinformatics including various R software packages.
Bioinformatics for genomic studies and analysis of RNA sequencing,
Laboratory experience in quantitative PCR and in situ hybridization for target
localization and validation.
Expertise in Brain science and human tissue studies and genomics is required.
Statistical expertise and the use of software for bioinformatics including
various R software packages.
Expertise in single cell RNAseq from Brain and other tissues as well as the
analysis of the results is strongly desired.
Expectations to work collaboratively with members of Neurology and/or other
departments or collaborators on genomic projects, write manuscripts, and apply
for grant funding.
Other duties and special projects as assigned.
Knowledge in working a research program encompasses microarray analysis and
bioinformatics, real time PCR analysis, primary neuronal and giial cell
culture, cell-based assays, standard cell biology and molecular biology tools.
