Research Assistant (PR0278/22-23)
The Department of Social Work is dedicated to working for the betterment of society through research, teaching, and service to the community. For over 60 years, the Department has been fully engaged in social work education through collaborative efforts with social service organisations in Hong Kong, advancing in many frontiers, including research, professional training and consulting, and supporting social policy changes.
In recent decades, the Department has made significant progress in internationalisation by strengthening cooperation with scholars from renowned universities in different parts of the world, and developing academic exchange opportunities for colleagues and students. The Department values the application of scientific evidence, as well as the development and implementation of evidence-based policy and practice, with an aim of bringing significant impact to the society.
Responsibilities: The appointee will participate in research projects; be responsible for data handling and collection, and database set-up; and perform any other duties as assigned.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 8.5% of basic salary. The appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of two years. Re- appointment thereafter will be subject to performance review, mutual agreement, and availability of funding.
