The Division of Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine at Heidelberg
University Hospital covers patient care in tropical medicine on a national
level and is embedded in a research-active university campus. We need your
support for the growing number of funded projects we have acquired. The
position is limited to 1 year with the possibility to extend another year.
You will be supporting the management, monitoring, implementation and analysis
of diagnostics clinical studies, analyses and systematic reviews.
Tasks and Responsibilities
The specific activities will include but not be limited to:
Supporting the team in project planning and project management and
enabling progress towards pre-determined goals. Primary focus of projects:
diagnostic studies, and demonstration/implementation studies, data
analyses (including travel)
Leading on projects (e.g. survey or systematic review) under supervision
of a team member
Interact with international network of partners in academia, industry as
well as implementation partners, nationally and internationally
Supporting the writing of publications and scientific presentations
(incl. travel for presentations)
A good understanding of other infectious diseases; An understanding of
tuberculosis would be an added benefit.
Scientific background in epidemiology: A master degree epidemiology,
public health or similar would be of benefit.
Experience in clinical trial planning, execution and monitoring would be
an added benefit. Experience with Good Clinical Practice. Relevant
experience working in low and middle-income countries would be an added
Project management skills
Willingness to expand knowledge base and take on new topics. Work well in
teams of multi-cultural backgrounds; effective communication.
