The Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung (BAM) is a materials research organization in Germany. Our mission is to ensure safety in technology and chemistry. Your responsibilities include:

Scientific collaboration in the field of additive manufacturing as part of the project 'MikroG - Process development for the filament based additive manufacturing of Ceramics and metals':

  • Process development of a filament-based additive manufacturing technology in close collaboration with a project partner from industry
  • Independent scientific work for the process optimization and the development of equipment
  • Optimization of the 3D-printing process
  • Integration of online-monitoring capabilities in the equipment
  • Cooperation with TU Berlin as project partner for the characterization of materials and 3D printed specimens
  • Data collection and analysis, writing of reports and publication of results in scientific journals
  • Your qualifications:
  • Completed scientific university studies (diploma, master's degree) in mechanical engineering, mechatronic, manufacturing engineering, process engineering or a comparable field of study
  • Experience in the field of additive manufacturing
  • Experience with a filament-based additive manufacturing technology (material extrusion) is advantageous
  • Experience with the additive manufacturing of ceramics and metal is advantageous
  • Experience with online-monitoring of manufacturing processses
  • Experience with laser technology is advantageous
  • Very good oral and written communication skills in English and German
  • Good communication and information behaviour, goal-oriented and structured way of working, initiative/ commitment, ability to work in a team/ willingness to cooperate as well as conceptual, strategic and innovative thinking skills
