  • About the Role As a Research Assistant/Lab Manager within Dr. Daniel Utzschneider's research program, you will contribute to the lab's groundbreaking work with a focus on T cell biology and novel cancer immunotherapies. The role involves contributing to the lab's research program, assisting in teaching and mentoring, actively engaging in departmental activities, and handling administrative tasks.

    Your responsibilities will include:

  • Contribute to the lab's research program, performing various laboratory techniques, and maintaining accurate experiment records.
  • Support teaching, training, and scientific mentoring of students and new lab staff.
  • Attend lab meetings and departmental activities and take on organisational responsibilities.
  • Uphold Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) and Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) responsibilities while ensuring routine reviews of laboratory practices.
  • Who We Are Looking For You are highly motivated with a strong interest in immunology. You will demonstrate exceptional organisational skills, the ability to work effectively in a team, and a self-starter mindset while upholding a commitment to good laboratory practices and adhering to safety and ethical standards.

    You will also have:

  • BSc (Honours) degree or equivalent with a major in Immunology, Microbiology, or related discipline
  • Ability to work with senior researchers and perform experiments
  • Strong organisational skills and accurate record-keeping
  • Experience in mouse handling and experimentation, including technical skills for substance administration and health monitoring

    This position requires the incumbent to hold a current and valid Working with Children Check to ensure the University provides a safe environment for everyone.
